IASEW empowers women in the informal sector through education, training, and research. Founded 30 years ago, IASEW focuses on holistic development of poor, working-class women. It offers training, research, literacy programs, and communication channels to build their capacities and make them self-reliant. IASEW has trained leaders, influenced policy changes, and created a network of grassroots workers who advocate for women’s empowerment.
